As our children grow up I can see them maturing really quickly.Take my daughter for example who is only 5 wants to wear makeup. Not only the make up she is making friendships in our neighbors and with her classmates. As she makes these friends I can tell that she isn't the strong one, other friends who want to get her to do things she knows is wrong are.
"The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray." -- Proverbs 12:26 NKJV
I'm not saying that my daughter is without fault, ultimately it's her responsibility to do what she knows is wrong. Her friends are not threatening her, she just loves to be accepted and does things that her "friends" want her to do so they will still be her friend.
So as our children grow up, we are involved in their lives so that they can understand that bad friends croupt their good ways. It's not good enough just to be happy that they have friends, they must choose them carefully. The good test is, are your friends causing you to do something you know is wrong? Is that a friend you want? Remember, it's ultimately you who makes the decision to do wrong.
